Industrial Breaks Ground at Lake Lure Reservoir

Our Industrial Division and the Town of Lake Lure, NC officially broke ground on a Reservoir Drain project, the first of several projects working on and around the 96-year-old existing dam.

The primary scope of work will be coring a 72” portal through the base of the dam, to install valves and a penstock, which will allow the water levels to be lowered for utility repairs and upgrades in the lake.

Infrastructure Development Across Rocky Broad River

Our civil team will construct a river crossing access road across the Rocky Broad River, allowing the Industrial crews access to their work area at the base of the dam. They will also run geotechnical studies required ahead of a new replacement dam to be constructed in the future.
