How It All Started
Morgan Corp. began as Morgan Landscape Company in 1945. Its founder, Ladson Morgan, was a World War II veteran and native South Carolinian. Morgan Landscape Company offered ground clearing, repair, and site preparation to clients in and around Spartanburg, South Carolina.
Now known as Morgan Corp., Ladson Morgan’s modest company has evolved into a diversified heavy construction company with hundreds of employees. Morgan Corp. continues to grow, with offices in South Carolina, North Carolina, and Georgia, servicing projects across the entire Southeast Region.
Although Morgan Corp. is now one of the largest grading companies in the Southeast, it remains a family business. Stewart Johnson continues to oversee as Chairman of the Board and his son David now serves as CEO. Together, they work with the rest of the Morgan Corp. family towards a bright future, striving to uphold the company’s core values of safety, quality, and productivity.

Completion of final reclamation project after over a decade of work at the Ridgeway gold mine

Wal-Mart Distribution center project starts - Morgan Corp.’s largest industrial project at the time
2007
Awarded the Cliffside Modernization project, Morgan Corp.’s first major project with Shaw
2008
Morgan Corp expands capabilities, adding RCC & CTB services
2011
Morgan Corp. opens its Savannah, GA Division to serve a growing client base
2015
Morgan Corp. emerges as a national leader in roller compacted concrete
2018
Morgan Corp. expands its capabilities with the addition of the Industrial Division, headquartered in Duncan, SC
2020
Morgan Corp. opens its fourth permanent office in Raleigh, NC, as well as celebrates 75 years in business
2022
Operations and admin move into the brand new, state-of-the-art corporate HQ
