Advancing Leaders Partner with Habitat for Humanity of Spartanburg

Collaboration with Advancing Leaders and Habitat for Humanity:

Our Advancing Leaders have closed their Built On Leadership course with a team project serving Habitat for Humanity of Spartanburg.

In addition to Habitat for Humanity’s mission to build new homes, they also complete critical home repairs for qualified individuals.

Our project served a senior woman in Inman, SC who is disabled and currently does not have safe egress from the back of her home. We started the morning with a safety talk and prayer to prepare us for the work ahead. Before we could construct the new deck, we first had to demolish the previous, insufficient deck. With our Advancing Leaders group, some Emerging Leaders alumni, and Habitat for Humanity volunteers, we were able to successfully complete the project in just a few hours.

While working, some of our team was able to meet and converse with the lady we were building for, and discovered that she used to work for Morgan years ago. It’s amazing how small of a world we live in and how we were able to come full circle and help someone who once helped us.
