Equipment Visits Swofford Career Center

Swofford Career Center is a multi-district career center serving Spartanburg High School students in School Districts 1 & 2. They have programs ranging from automotive tech, welding, and culinary arts, to carpentry, graphic communications, and engineering design. Located 30 minutes from our corporate headquarters and equipment shop, Morgan Corp. has partnered with Swofford to offer apprenticeship opportunities to students pursuing careers in welding and equipment maintenance.

Our Equipment Division visited Swofford Career Center’s Level 1 Auto Mechanics class last week to share about our apprenticeship program, as well as career paths working on heavy equipment.

Current employees and Swofford automotive graduates, Sam Taylor and Ethan Fortenberry, spoke to the group of 40 students about joining Morgan and experiences in the program.

Shop Manager Chad Lance fielded questions from the group about our Spartanburg shop and the importance of mechanics in keeping our fleet running.

“If you have a willingness to learn about heavy equipment, we can teach you. The most important is doing what you love every day at a company that values and invests in their people, like Morgan.” – Chad Lance
