Safety Coordinator and Trainer

Morgan Corp. is currently searching for a Safety Coordinator and Trainer for our Industrial Division.

Morgan Corp is looking for a safety professional to provide support and training to our Industrial Division projects. Morgan Corp operates with a continuous improvement mindset in safety, and we are looking for a difference maker with a similar mindset to fill this role.
The position will be based out of the southeast including GA, SC, NC and will travel to our Industrial projects in the southeast approximately 50% of the time. It’s essential the person holding this position has credible construction expertise and can effectively communicate with members of our industrial division.

Responsibilities:

The position will design, develop, and implement the division’s training curriculum and program, and will ensure performance through field observation and management.

  • Oversight of Industrial Division safety performance including site audits, safety coaching, and compliance management.
  • Identifies training program needs
  • Develops training curriculums related to hand tools, heavy equipment operation, confined spaces, excavation and trenching, working from heights, fall protection
  • Delivers training to craft and management personnel in the field.
  • Provides performance-based training via classroom, hands-on, and other effective methods.
  • Analyzes, assesses, and converts training content sourced from technical documents, manufacturer’s instructions, and/or subject matter experts into relevant instructional content and material to meet company and client expectations
  • Continuously review and enhance curriculum for content and method of instruction delivery.
  • Administers examinations and formal evaluations of job performance measures.
  • Develops and communicates training schedule and plan.
  • Assist investigating accidents to determine root cause and develop effective corrective actions
  • Advise Management regarding Industrial Division safety and training performance.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred (Considerable work experience may replace requirement.)
  • 4+ years of combined heavy equipment and safety training experience (experience in an industrial setting is preferred).
  • Knowledgeable about equipment operation and trade work. Emphasis on carpentry, geotechnical work, concrete, electrical and iron work.
  • Observant auditor with expertise and credibility to enact real-time improvements.
  • Insightful trainer who connects with students.
  • Report clearly and concisely on training results and field performance.
  • Ability to write in a clear and concise manner.
  • Use technology efficiently (experience with HCSS and office products a plus).
  • CSP, CHST, or other EHS certifications appreciated.
